    planning adventure

Making a list of the most eligible places for your next canoeing trip is not easy. The world has so much to offer, and we want to see all of it. But you have to start somewhere. These are 10 of the best must-sees to unfold your next adventure in Europe.

  2. Canoeing the Miramichi River with Storeytown cottages, Doaktown, New Brunswick

    Onak Canoe - Miramichi River

We give our ONAK folding canoe the ultimate test on the Miramichi River with Storeytown Cottages & River Adventures, Doaktown, New Brunswick, Canada.

You can practically float all the way down the river,” we were assured. “It should take you two to three hours depending how much you paddle.”Hmm… a three-hour boat tour. Why did this sound eerily familiar and where is Gilligan when you need him?

We hadn’t set out to have an epic adventure on the Miramichi River that morning. It was a gorgeous September day; unseasonably warm with the heavy, golden light that graces the Maritime Provinces during our Indian summers.

  3. My Adventure in Box, the ONAK - by Joao

The ONAK has given me a total sense of freedom when it comes to going on mini adventure trips. Know I can just fold/ unfold and enjoy city trips, while opening the door to other more adventurous trips.

  4. Impressions of a canoeing rookie

My maiden voyage with the ONAK canoe led me through the beautiful historic canal Reep in Ghent.

  5. Australia, be prepared!

  6. Once there was...

...a foldable canoe in search for a companion to go explore. After a while he finally found a little foldable bicycle. And so the friendship between the ONAK and the Brompton arose.Their friendship was based on simplicity and teamwork. When one of both was tired, the other took the lead and continued the journey. One day the Brompton took the ONAK on his back and they left for the water. Because the ONAK was not the lightest, the little bike was quickly exhausted. They decided to build a carriage and so the bike pulled the canoe, using a piece of climbing rope and a carabiner. All set!

  7. Simply Sybi

  8. Canoeing on the reservoir of Nisramont (Barrage de Nisramont)

  9. Egon & Simon on an adventure!

Two amateurs taking the ONAK for a spin through Ghent city!

Simon and I recently did an internship at ONAK, and we thought it would be great to tell you guys the story of our first paddle.

Uncover the hidden side of the world’s cities on the water.

For many people, ‘canoeing’ conjures up pixel perfect pictures of pure wilderness. Misty lakes, rocky shorelines, old-growth forests. With no sound but the wind and a paddle slicing through the water...

But you don’t necessarily have to head up north for adventure. If you live in the city like I do, there are plenty of opportunities to paddle in your own backyard and explore the city from a totally different perspective. First we take Ghent, then we take Berlin... En route!
